The Old Orchard Otters Dive Team is ready for the 2010 Summer schedule. Please see the Summer competitive schedule, here. It's packed from June 4th all the way to July 22nd.
Last year, 2009, we hosted the Central Division's third qualifier, and thanks to the help from all the parents we were very successful. We are counting on all Diving Parents again this year !
Our swim team emphasizes competitiveness, team spirit and friendship, and is open to Club members' children from the ages 6 to 18. If you are interested to sign up, here is the registration form.
Also, as in the past, divers need to go to the SJ Diving website for instructions on how to sign up for AAU. All Divers must present their AAU certification prior to diving.
Our coach this year is :
Drew Spera
He is currently a Junior at Seton Hall University and has 8 years of diving experience at various levels. He dove Varsity at Cherry Hill High School East for two years and then continued onto college to dive. Having been a part of the Seton Hall Pirates Diving team he has a lot of knowledge with this sport. At Seton Hall he competed in the Big East Conference which is Division 1, against some of the best schools in the nation such as Villanova, Syracuse, and Georgetown. For the last two summers ha has assisted the diving coach at both Downs Farm Swim Club and Old Orchard Swim Club.
This summer his goal is to help the Otters learn how to dive properly and safely while improving their skills greatly. Each diver will become competitive in their respective age group while having a lot of fun. He is looking forward to meeting all the parents and coaching the Otters, it should be a great summer.
